Oren prefabricated panels - a history of fine work.
In 1982, Piedmont Airlines crafted an agreement with the City of Dayton to establish a hub at the Dayton Airport. This agreement caused a lot of excitement in the area because it meant a huge expansion of the airport.
Messer Construction was selected as the General Contractor and Oren was the plastering contractor.
Stored panels await finish.
Finishing large panels presented a challenge.
Piedmont was in a hurry. The schedule they wanted seemed barely possible and it had a twenty thousand dollar per day completion penalty. Prefabrication was the only way the project could be completed on time.
A relatively new product at the time, Dryvit was chosen because of the outstanding insulating value and it's adaptability to prefabrication.

In spite of delays caused by days of heavy wind, the project was considered a success when it was finished under budget and ahead of schedule!
A SIDE NOTE:
When Emery Freight wanted to move into the building almost 20 years later, they needed more room. Several of the original panels were removed, additional steel erected and the same panels were reinstalled along with some new ones. Just one more advantage of pre-panelization!

Architects and builders find one of the most appealing aspects of Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems is the ability to design almost any shape. Large decorative elements can be added to a building without increasing the footings or other structural elements.
Installation of pre-finished panels reduces the possibility of dropping materials on the lower areas of brick or glass.
One of the great advantages of this method is Oren's ability to maintain dimensions. The panels can be constructed to any manageable size, but, in order to take advantage of pre-fabrication, the site tolerances are vital.
Added decorative elements can sometimes cause havoc with the schedule. Masonry walls must be in place before the decorative elements are installed, and by that time, there are a lot of things to be done at once.
Oren Plastering organized a solution to the challenge. The decorative elements are assembled and pre-finished in the shop and installed using lifts. This enables the EIFS work to be done in the shop in any weather, and installed in a short time frame. This helps alleviate some of the congestion found on job sites in the critical late stages of a project.
